This was a neat little trek down memory lane for me. I came across this and a few other pieces of artwork I did many years ago while studying computer and digital coloring. I was especially lucky to get hooked up with a few working colorist and before long I was helping them handle projects. I was fortunate enough to get work early on and got paid to learn color theory and the ins and outs of digital printing.

This particular piece was just one of dozens of character and scene coloring jobs I did for Fantasy Flight Games back in the late 90′s. I was walking through the mall one day some years after completing the work and saw a few of the pieces I worked on used as the box art.

All in all I think I did about 70-100 of these little color jobs for this game project. I used to come home from a hard days work, eat dinner and then sit in front of my little computer monitor until early in the mornings just to meet deadlines. I was obsessed at this point but I was learning so much every day that I couldn’t stop coloring.
